The Indian film industry is picking up slowly and steadily recovering from the deadly covid pandemic which resulted in two lockdowns. People are thronging to theatres to enjoy the film viewing experience on the big screen which they have been robbed of due to the lockdown following the outbreak of the covid pandemic.

Many most awaited films like Rajamouli's Rrr featuring NTR and Ram Charan, Prabhas' Radhe Shyam, Ajith's Vaalimai are releasing during Sankranti. However, tensions are increasing among movie lovers and filmmakers and they are fearing another lockdown soon. The omicron variant in the coronavirus is fast spreading at an alarming rate and already few states like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat imposed night curfew.

Union Government is monitoring the situation closely and asked the states not to relax their vigil in the outbreak of the omicron virus. It has to be seen how things will develop in the coming days.
