Ramappa Temple Becomes World Heritage Site

A breathtaking news is here that makes Telugu people cherished to an apogee. Ramappa Temple aka Ramalingeswara Temple has been inscribed as 'The World Heritage Site' by UNESCO officially on Sunday. 

Beforehand, the Telangana government had made aggressive efforts to get the ancient temple placed in the list of the world heritage sites. The officials of UNESCO, de facto, inspected the temple in 2019, itself. 

Lately, a delegation on Telangana government's behalf, met PM Modi and submitted a memorandum appealing him to nominate the historical temple from India's side for world heritage site recognition. Rightaway, the PM obliged them by giving a nod to nominate the temple to the world heritage committee's meeting which was held on Sunday in China. 

According to the inscriptions in the temple, the temple was built in 1213 by Recherla Rudrudu, the general of Ganapathi Devudu. Known for its astounding carvings, Ramappa Temple is located 77km away from Warangal and 209km away from Hyderabad. 

The temple withstands for ages as it was built with great Indian sandbox technology. The artwork and carvings inside and outside the walls of the temple are majestically designed which stand on par with the statuses of any other carvings of other world heritage sites.
