Rang De Flops, All The Blame On Covid?

Hero Nithiin’s last film Rang De is turning out to be a flop at box office. Released amidst good expectations, the film failed to rake highest opening in Nithiin’s career. Bheeshma still holds the highest opening record for Nithiin. Despite receiving mixed to good talk, Rang De managed to collect around 15 crores worldwide.

On its sixth day, Rang De has amassed close to 50 lakhs worldwide. With new films releasing tomorrow, Rang De’s business is expected to close soon. Lakh of freshness in the story and narration played spoilsport. Moreover, the makers too stopped promotions after first weekend.

Meanwhile, the team blames Covid for the film’s poor performance at box office. They claim upsurge in corona cases is the main reason for the film not performing up to the mark. But, there’s no truth in it. Tollywood is the only film industry in India to recover from Corona and many films turned out to be hits so far.

“When people are coming in huge numbers to attend pre-release and other functions why wouldn’t they go out to watch films in theatres,” question a movie buff, adding Telugu audiences will always encourage films with good content.

Director Venky Atluri is coming up with similar storylines and people too seem to be vexed with regular content. Nithiin too should be conscious in his story selection of his next films.
