Young and upcoming filmmakers in Tollywood seem to be smitten by rural charms. Many of them are coming with stories having rural backdrop. Anand Deverakonda's recent film Middle Class Melodies directed by Vinod Ananthoju showcased Guntur capturing the imagination of all. He said new look offers refreshing feel and expressed happiness with the response.
Even Payal Rajput's thriller Anaganaga O Atithidi beautified the village atmosphere in a realistic manner. Sharwanand's upcoming project Sreekaram is also set in rural backdrop.
Karuna Kumar earlier highlighted the same in his film Palasa 1978. Vinod and Karuna say being born in Guntur and Palasa helped them respectively but added that one need not be born in a particular place to showcase on screen.
Karuna Kumar is now directing Sudheer Babu in Sridevi Soda Center and the plot is set in East Godavari District. Earlier films like Rangasthalam, Soggade Chinni Nayana, Shathamanam Bhavati, Middle Class Abbayi, Srimanthudu etc. beautified the rural atmosphere on screen.
