After the separation of Telangana from the joint Andhra Pradesh, various development plans were unveiled here. Telangana IT Minister KTR, son of CM KCR, came up with statements like another film city should be built in Donakonda, Pune-Style film institute should be set up near Gachibowli along with a Film Animation hub. However, none of these statements materialized.
In a recent meeting with film personalities, Minister Srinivas Goud acknowledged that the film industry was responsible for the growth of tourism in the region. Not only that, he held a review meeting about 50-60 shooting locations across Telangana. He said most of the locations are suitable for tourism. He said Adilabad, Vikarabad has good locations and said they would develop as tourism hub only with film shootings.
He stated that producers have come forward for filming in Telugu states. Film shootings at tourism sites will be planned during the week. He said the Chief Minister will explain together when the plan comes. The question is whether the minister is interested in generating income through tourism or has any plans for Tollywood development.
