Sankranti is the most preferred festive season for Tollywood stars to release their films. They can make huge profits, break box office records with those films. Now that the corona virus stalled the entire industry, speculation is on as to which stars are gunning for sankranti. Many of the top stars are already planning to target summer 2021.
SS Rajamouli planned to release the multi starrer RRR with Ram Charan and NTR during Sankranti. But with Rajamouli clarifying that they need another six months' time, RRR is out of sankranti race. Rajinikanth and Chiranjeevi too planned their films during Sankranti. But they have shifted their respective films Annatha and Acharya for summer. Though Pawan Kalyan's Vakeel Saab is in the final stage, it may get delayed to wrap up shooting. It is not clear whether Vakeel Saab enters Sankranti race.
Sai Dharam Tej's Solo Bratuke So Better, Rana's Aranya, Anushka's Nishabdham, Ram's Red, Vaishnav Tej's Uppena, Raj Tarun's Orey Bujjiga and Pradeep's 30 Rojullo Preminchatam Ela are there. They are considering various options like OTTs or theatrical releases. Ravi Teja's Krack, Naga Chaitanya's Love Story is also in the list. Speculation is except for Red, Krack, and Uppena, others may opt for OTT releases.
Young heroes are planning to enter the Sankranti race and they include Nithiin's Rang De, Akhil's Most Eligible Bachelor, Sharwanand's Sreekaram, Bellamkonda Srinivas’ Alludu Adhurs. Krish-Vaishnav Tej's latest film may also enter Sankranti race.
