AP Sees 43 New Corona Cases, Tally Rises To 87

Andhra Pradesh sees an astonishing 43 new cases of Coronavirus in a single day, taking the overall tally to 87 in the state. Most of these cases relate to the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi.

West Godavari district, which did not have a single Covid-19 case till Tuesday, recorded 13 positive cases while Kadapa district too reported 15 cases. Five new cases were added in Chittoor, four in Prakasam, two each in East Godavari, Nellore and one each in Krishna and Visakhapatnam districts.

A total of 373 samples were tested since 9 pm on Tuesday and 330 of them turned negative till 9 am on Wednesday.

Andhra Pradesh government has been tracking citizens in home quarantine using a tool called "COVID Alerting Tracking System", which uses signals of mobile towers to track people's location.
