Until some years ago, former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal used to make surveys on general elections and would divulge the details of winning and losing political parties. May it be due to coincidence or had he been really quite accurate and neutral with his surveys, most of the times his political surveys proved to be right and he was respected as 'Andhra Octopus' by the politicians.
Lagadapati, however, lost his Midas touch with his surveys for the past couple of years. Two years ago, Lagadapati met AP's CM Chandrababu Niadu in the latter's camp office. From then on he appeared to have lost his authentiy in surveys.
Much to everyone's shocker, Lagadapati came up with a fake survey on Telangana general elections prior to the day of polling. He envisaged that Congress and TDP led Praja Kootami would win 65 MLA seats while TRS would get their MLA seats confined to 35. He, furthermore, predicted that independents would play a vital role in poll process. Finally, Lagadapati's survey failed miserably with TRS clinched a monumental victory from Praja Kootami.
Lagadapati graced an NRI meet in the USA on Saturday. Addressing to the turnout Lagadapati hinted that TDP would establish the government again. "The politicians who implemented welfare schemes and development programmes would form the government," proclaimed Lagadapati. Obviously, he was intended to disclose that TDP would come into power again. Besides, Lagadapati said he would reveal exit poll results on May 19.
On the contrary to Lagadapati's survey, most of the surveys said TDP is going to face a humiliating defeat in the elections battle.
Psephologists who learnt about Lagadapati's predictions, blatantly rubbished his poll predictions. They are also suspecting if Lagadapati turned casteist with the rapport being maintained with CBN. Further, they prognosticated that Lagadapati might have got benefited from TDP financially for his business purposes and is now expressing his gratitude on TDP.
