Prince Mahesh's 'Brahmotsavam' had done a pre release business of Rs.72 crores and collected just Rs.34 crores. Having incurred the total loss of Rs.38 crores, the movie has stood as the biggest flop of Tollywood till now.
Prior to the release, the film's satellite rights were sold out to ZEE TV for Rs.10 crores. In spite of repeated broadcasting, the film is reported to have incurred huge losses with poor TRPs on small screen. As a result, ZEE management has reportedly negotiated with the PVP cinema seeking the rights of the film would be taken back by the makers to get their losses minimised. The deal hasn't been accepted by PVP Cinema.
Mahesh's next film SPYder, however, is carrying huge buzz at the trade owing to its combination craze. As we know South top director AR Murugadoss is directing the film. Rakul Preet Singh romanced Mahesh. NV Prasad and Tagore Madhu are producing the film. June 23 is the scheduled date of release.
