Earlier, Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna and creative director Krishna Vamsi were supposed to team up for a message oriented commercial entertainer 'Raithu'. The duo met Big B Amitabh Bachchan for a crucial role in the movie.
Since Amitabh was busy working for a couple of Bollywood's films, it was thought Amitabh would allot call sheets for Balayya-KV's combo film some time later this year. Leaving a shocker to them, the Big B signed for a Malayalam film starred by Mohanlal. This comes as a huge shocker to Balakrishna and KV, who pinned their hopes on Amitabh for the powerful character which was thought to be assigned for him.
Tentatively titled as Randam Oozham, Amitabh and Mohanlal's film will be made with an exorbitant price of Rs.600 crores. Amitabh's role will be something on the lines of Bhishma of Maha Bharata. The film is an adaptation of MT Vasudevan Nair’s novel Randam Oozham.
