Money Factors at Award Events?

It has been a widely circulated gossip that Government's Nandi awards are given to the people who have blessings of the ruling political parties. This could have been the reason the awards are given away to undeserved people in most of the cases.

Private Award Functions, however, have encountered different story. A leading English daily's article today on the anomalies of private award events was thought provoking. The newspaper clearly says private award events are driven by money factors.

It is heard that TV channels are funding money to the organizers to get better TRPs during the telecast of the event. Since private Award Functions are mushrooming, the actors and technicians too are losing interest in turning up the events. IIFA Utsavam, which was held in the city of Hyderabad, for two days, had witnessed least attendance of crazy film stars down South. 

On the other hand, it's also being speculated that some of the awards are announced at the eleventh hour subject to the presence of actors and technicians of the function so as to adjudge awards to them. 

Be it a Government or a private award agency, transparency in conferring the awards must be maintained and which ultimately lead to great reputation to the organizers of the Award Functions.
