Sachin's Puttamraju Kandriga, A Model Village

Sachin Tendulkar is not just an inspiration on the field. In fact, he is a true off the field too because Puttamraju Kandriga village adopted by Tendulkar two years back is now transformed into a model village.

‘I am completely stumped by the love of people from Puttamraju Kandriga. Glad to announce that they are now open defecation free! It has been two years since Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana was launched by PMO and Narendra Modi focusing on development in villages. The Yojana launched by PMO aims at holistic development of villages and creating an Adarsh village with motivated people. Proud to state our adopted village Puttamraju Kandriga is open defecation free. The phase 1 work of SAGY is complete,’ a proud Sachin stated on his visit to Puttamraju Kandriga today.

Sachin spoke to district collector and other Government officials congratulating them in achieving the desired goal. Uninterrupted water supply, round the clock power, underground drainage, what not… this village is fully equipped to be declared as Model Village.
