During 80s, 90s and until his last film released in 2007, Megastar Chiranjeevi maintained remarkable gap in pre release business of his films with that of other senior stars films.
Long back, a senior hero, who was considered next to Chiranjeevi would reach upto 50% of Chiranjeevi's films business when that senior was in form with a blockbuster with his previous film. A few movies of other heroes would do the pre release business of 30% to 40% with that of Chiranjeevi's films.
Incidentally, the scenario seems to have not changed even today. According to the trade reports, Chiranjeevi is maintaining the same business gap with a few other seniors, as he had done it long ago. Reports are that Chiranjeevi's 'Khaidi Number 150' would be crossing theatricals business of Rs.90+ crores (excluding satellite rights) while another senior's film has done around Rs.52 crores (excluding satellite rights) world wide theatrical business. On the other hand, other senior heroes got their new films pre release businesses are valued to Rs.35+ crores, Rs.30+ crores and so on. One more interesting observation is that some of the seniors lost control on their physique as such they appeared to have added adipose on their abdominal regions. Wish that all senior heroes would acquire a physically chiseled bodies so that they would continue ruling the Tollywood for one or two more decades.
