Why PVP Backed From Guru?

Critics appreciated flicks ‘Iruddhi Suttru’ in Tamil and ‘Saala Khadoos’ in Hindi are now getting into Telugu market as ‘Guru.’ We have already informed on ‘Guru’ first look posters wherein Daggubati Venkatesh appeared to have done the needful home work to appear as Boxing Coach to Ritika Singh. On to production front, actually Prasad V Potluri of PVP Cinema showed his interest to partner in ‘Guru’ but later on stepped out.

As per the information from our own and close film circles, commercial equations like hero remuneration and budget to be invested on production were the major reasons why PVP later on stepped out. Venkatesh effectively bargained on ‘Guru’ satellite rights as his remuneration and Y NOT Studious, the original production firm almost made their mind to retain the Hindi scenes as it is to be placed for Telugu version. Only those portions wherein Madhavan and Rithika Singh were present will be re-shot in Telugu on Venkatesh on Rithika Singh.

PVP was apprehensive on such production compromises affecting the originality. So, he stepped back while Venkatesh was more than happy to sign the deal when director Sudha Kongara and producer Sasikanth accepted his proposal of satellite rights as remuneration.
