‘Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada,’ the new movie from young hero Nikhil raised the curiosity with its first look released few months back. In fact, Nikhil is showing upsurge in his career graph with each film barring the last ‘Shankarabharanam.’ The versatile story selection and ability to pick scripts, directors irrespective of their past record bestowed Nikhil with a decent image.
However, ‘Shankarabharanam’ woes are still haunting Nikhil’s ‘Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada’ because the film is lying in production and post production modes from a long time. Even the pre release trade calls are said to be very weak. Reports say producers are a bit worried on how to get their investments secured.
Off late, buyers are risking high amounts only relying on combination factors of star heroes and big directors. Medium to small budgeted projects are facing stiff competition as buyers are remaining quite rigid safeguarding their interests first. As such VI Anand isn’t a dependable name and Nikhil has flop ‘Shankarabharanam’ as his last flick.
It’s already too late. Any more delays in EPC release date can further result in losing the audience interest. Meanwhile, Nikhil also signed a movie for Abhishek Pictures. Better, he wrap up EPC and check his luck soon. On the other side, PR sources from the film unit should kickstart promotional campaigns to hike the interest.
