Crores of people take holy dip in sacred river Ganga in Kumbh Mela held once per every 12 years in Northern places such as Haridwar, Prayag, Nashik and Ujjain. Politics has no place in Kumbh Mela. The governments never make use of Kumbh Mela for personal and political gains.
Sadly, unlike Kumbh Mela, the AP government is treating Krishna Pushkaralu as the occasion held in their home. They have already demolished the ancient temples and statues of great leaders in Vijayawada and surroundings. On the other hand, opposition parties are alleging that the government indulged in hundreds of crores of corruption from Pushkara funds. Ironically, the government sent its ministers to celebrities residences to invite them for Krishna Pushkaralu as if it was an occasion held in their homes.
Having seen too many political factors associated with pushkara programs and politicians hulchul in Vijayawada and other areas, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy took a dig at the government. "We don't see political factors involved in Kumbh Mela of North. In contrast, there have been politicians everywhere in the places wherein the devotees take holy dip. In such circumstances how can people be pious and devotional? Instead of devotion, politics have dominated here," ridiculed Chinna Jeeyar Swamy.
