Caste politics in Andhra Pradesh doesn’t need any special prompting. Especially the game of political domination when tagged with caste can play havoc as what happened few days ago in Tuni when Kapu Aikya Garjana went capricious. The sudden entry of Power Star into scene and immediately calling for a press meet to address his feelings on the same incident was in fact viewed in a positive perspective by Kapu caste voters.
Reason is quite simple. Pawan Kalyan belongs to same Kapu caste and any form of verbal support from his side towards the ongoing agitation could have consolidated his heroic status not on screen but also off the screen within their community. Apparently, nothing of such sorts happened as Power Star tried to balance his friendship with Naidu on one side and his innocence to find the actual reason behind agitation turning violent on one side made the press meet inefficacious. Kapu youth once completely cheated by Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam Party are now slowly losing their trust even on Pawan Kalyan and Jana Sena.
Bottom line is again so simple. Cinema celebrities’ transforming into full-fledged politicians was a phenomenon successful during NTR and MGR times. Off late, media and public are much more enlightened. They are analyzing the obedience and allegiance of a leader within couple of meetings. In this regard, Pawan should unveil a strong political plan to strengthen his own political image and Jana Sena Party profile before it gets too late to plaster the damage.
