The union minister Inderjit Singh on Friday clarified that there is no provision to accord special category status to any state in India. In response to the repeated questions by YSR CPs MPs, the minister had to answer those questions in the zero hour. The minister, however, made it clear that there would be special packages to the states which are in need.
Given the statement of the minister, it's now crystal clear that AP would get no special category status anyway, in future. Incidentally, Bjp had done aggressive campaigns during general elections, 2014, promising that it would announce special category status to AP after getting into power. However, the Bjp later broke its elections promise.
It's observed the people of AP had blindly believed the words of Bjp during the elections. Their one and only intention in the elections was to defeat Congress party in the elections such that they ignored Bjp's credibility, caste and money factors in the elections battle. This is the time all political parties should come under one roof either by hook or by crook and should continue their fight to achieve special status to AP.
