Lokesh Padayatra: what will achieve

For any person especially a politician, public image is important and if an image is formed, it is difficult to erase it. Rajiv Gandhi's son Rahul Gandhi and Chandra Babu's son Nara Lokesh got branded as Pappu (novice) by their opponents and this is their own undoing. They came up with silly posts and became a laughingstock in front of all.

Now Rahul Gandhi is going on a padayatra from Kashmir to Kanyakumari for 150 days to revive the fortunes of the Congress party. Similarly, Lokesh announced a year-long padayatra in Andhra Pradesh to revive the sagging fortunes of his party TDP. Under these circumstances, people are wondering who is inspiring whom in the padayatras.

Many are heard commenting that Lokesh's padayatra will be never before and never after (Nabhooto Nabhavishyathi) and he is expected to create a trend. While NTR's Rathayatra, Advani's Rathayatra and YSR's Padayatra, Jagan's Padayatra brought them to power, many are of the opinion that Rahul Gandhi and Nara Lokesh with their padayatras will decimate their own parties making the task of their opponents easy.

Many in Andhra Pradesh are wondering what will Lokesh achieve with his yearlong padayatra as there are no takers for him or his plans. People are heard commenting that his padayatra is not for the strengthening of the party but for his own weight loss. Let us see whether Lokesh will change the impression on him among people with his padayatra or will that impression worsen.
