Congress senior leader and ex-Union Minister S. Jaipal Reddy said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao may soon join the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here, Jaipal Reddy said that the outright support which KCR has extended to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on demonitisation issue was a clear indication of him joining the BJP Government at the Centre. He accused KCR of being an opportunist who prefer his personal gains over people's interest. However, he said KCR was highly unpredictable and it was difficult to say as to exactly when he would join the Central Government.
Jaipal Reddy also criticised the Centre over demonitisation and said except for BJP leaders, rest of the country was unhappy over the note ban. He said that the demonitisation was not implemented properly and lakhs of people were forced to stand in long queues to withdraw their own money. He also dismissed the allegations being levelled by the BJP that Congress leaders were stashing black money. He said if the Central Government has such information then why it was not taking direct action. He said those stashing black money should be immediately arrested. But the common man should not be put to inconvenience in the name of drive against black money.
The Congress leader said that the demonitisation had no impact on the marriages of children of senior BJP leaders including Arun Jaitley, Nitin Gadkari or Gali Janardhan Reddy.
