Telangana and Andhra Pradesh shared top rank in the ease of doing business in the country, a report prepared by the Centre. Union Commence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman released the report in New Delhi on Monday.
Telangana and AP scored 98.78 points and stood first in the ranking. The Assessment of State Implementation of Business Reforms, 2016, based on the ranking by Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, tracks the level of implementation of norms by state governments making it easier to do business in.
Gujarat is at third spot, while Chhattisgarh is at fourth. Madhya Pradesh ranked fifth in the ease of doing business.
Last year Telangana stood at 13th spot in the ranking and had improved by 12 spots this year.
