Ysr Congress alleged that the BJP and its ally TD were deliberately dodging the issue of Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to reporters here on Thursday party spokesperson Bhumana Karunakar Reddy said that since Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu failed to take up the SCS issue, he has no right to continue in office. The CM should immediately resign since he failed to take up issue state’s interests.
He said that the true face of Congress and BJP was exposed and wanted the TD to snap its ties with the BJP. Prime Minister Narender Modi had assured us during the Tirupati public meeting that the BJP would accord special status, while Chandrababu Naidu had gone one step ahead and said that they would give 15 years of Special Category Status if voted to power, Reddy said. However, after coming to power, both the parties failed to keep their promise, he added.
When a private bill was moved in the Rajya Sabha the TDP had expressed its willingness to support it and was playing the numbers game. To prove its sincerity, the BJP should immediately confer special status and Chandrababu Naidu should quit office if he fails to bring SCS for the State during ongoing Parliament session, he said.
