Telangana TDP Working President A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday began his 48-hour hunger strike demanding justice for outsees of Mallanna Sagar project.

Revanth Reddy, along with other TDP leaders and local farmers, began his fast at Kistapur. Addressing the gathering, he accused the TRS Government of forcibly acquiring the land. He alleged that criminal cases were being registered against farmers who refused to part with their lands. He said Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao himself was threatening the farmers.

The TDP leader said that the entire TRS cadre has been pressed to forcibly acquire lands for the project. He said that the State Government wanted to pay a meagre compensation of Rs. 5.80 lakh per acre as per GO MS NO. 123. He demanded that the farmers should be paid compensation as per market rates and each family should be given a Double Bedroom house.
