Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister of State for Science & Technology Y.S. Chowdhary and T.G. Venkatesh filed their nomination papers for Rajya Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh State.
While Sujana Chowdhary and Venkatesh filed their nomination papers as TDP candidates, Suresh Prabhu filed the papers as BJP candidate, who is being supported by the TDP. They submitted their nomination papers to the Returning Officer at 11.07 AM on Tuesday, as per the auspicious Muhurat time.
AP Ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Atchan Naidu, Palle Raghunath Reddy, TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh, Telangana TDP President L. Ramana and other senior leaders of TDP and BJP were present on the occasion. The first signature on Suresh Prabhu's nomination papers was done by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu himself.
Earlier, accompanied with Nara Lokesh and other TDP leaders, Sujana Chowdhary and Venkatesh visited NTR Ghat and paid floral tributes to TDP founder late N.T. Ramarao and then proceeded towards Assembly in a rally to file nomination papers.
Similarly, Suresh Prabhu came to the Assembly in a rally from BJP Headquarters at Nampally. He was accompanied with Union Minister for Civil Aviation P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju and BJP leaders of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States.
