Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao on Tuesday said that the State Government plans to develop Warangal as the second capital of Telangana.
Addressing Meet The Press programme organised by Telangana Union of Working Journalist at Warangal Press Club, Harish Rao said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has devised a special development package for Warangal and it would be unveiled after the conclusion of Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation elections. He said that he government proposes to construct 15,000 2BHK houses at a cost of Rs. 900 crore.
Harish Rao said that the people of Warangal have expressed full faith on TRS Government during the by-elections to Warangal Lok Sabha seat. He expressed confidence of TRS winning the Warangal civic polls. He said that the Congress party, which lost GHMC and Narayankhed by-elections, would be completely wiped off in GWMC polls.
Commenting on the Union Budget, Harish Rao said that the BJP-led NDA Government has done complete injustice with Telangana. He said that the Centre neither allocated adequate funds nor sanctioned any new project. He also alleged that Telangana BJP leaders have completely failed to get good package from their party's government at the Centre.
