Congress senior leader and former MLA Marri Shashidhar Reddy on Saturday demanded that former GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar be dismissed from service for his alleged role in deletion of lakh of voters from the electoral rolls of Hyderabad.
Speaking to media persons here, Shashidhar Reddy said that the Telangana Government has only transferred Somesh Kumar to some other department. He said Somesh Kumar deserves to be dismissed from service for his actions. He also demanded action against Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal for not taking any action on the complaints of deletion of names from the electoral rolls in the GHMC limits.
Shashidhar Reddy informed that he has furnished the proof of illegal deletion of voters' names to the central team of Election Commission of India which is presently probing the issue in Hyderabad. He said that nearly 25,000 names were deleted in Sanathnagar Assembly constituency alone.
