Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Thursday demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao immediately sanction Rs. 1,000 crore to complete six pending irrigation projects of Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar district.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here, Komatireddy said that the Chief Minister should focus on completion of pending irrigation projects so as to help the farmers of Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar districts.
Komatireddy also accused the TRS Government of emulating the previous TDP regime in harassing the farmers. He said that the officials, during TDP rule, used to seize agricultural pumpsets to collect power arrears. Acting in the same manner, the TRS Government has been harassing the farmers and their motors and starters were being snatched away. He demanded that the government waive off the power bills arrears while fulfilling the promise of waiving of crop loans.
Accusing KCR of implementing anti-farmers policies, the Congress MLA said that the government was yet to declare rain deficient mandals as drought-hit.
