2018 Maintains Strong Hold At Boxoffice

2018 is the talk of the town in South Film industry. The Malayalam film has emerged as Industry Hit in Kerala crossing Mohana Lal's Pulimurugan RS 140 Crores gross collection. The film which was released in Telugu by Bunny Vas has garnered a terrific response from the audience.

The early wave of appreciation has created a strong momentum for the film and the film collected 1.01+ crores gross on day 1. The film witnessed jump on Day 2 collecting a gross of 1.7 crores on Day 2. The film holds strong despite IPL Final on Sunday (though the match was cancelled, evening shows were started much before the match). It has collected a gross of RS 1.74 on its 3rd day. Taking its total to 4.5 Crs in four days.

This is a big number considering that it's a dubbing film and costs involved. As the IPL season ends today and the summer holiday season is still having a couple of weeks, it looks like the film is on the way to create sensation in Telugu too. Along with thrilling aspects it is the emotions that are drawing the crowds to 2018 theatres. Humanity is the takeaway for the audience.

2018 is based on the 2018 floods in Kerala and it is directed by Jude Anthany Joseph. The film stars Tovino Thomas, Indrans, Kunchacko Boban, Aparna Balamurali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Asif Ali, Lal, Narain, Tanvi Ram, Sshivada, Kalaiyarasan, Aju Varghese, Siddique, and Joy Mathew, Sudheesh in prominent roles.
