J.D. Chakravarthy wins International award

J.D. Chakravarthy is in the limelight with an international award. J.D. Chakravarthy is known for his impactful and powerful performances. According to the latest, JD. Chakravarthy won the international award for his performance in Dahini-The Witch. J.D. Chakravarthy won the best supporting actor award at the Eko International Award. The film is a Hindi film and is directed by Rajesh Touchriver.

Dahini The Witcch is a social thriller and it won accolades and appreciation from various quarters at various international festivals. Tanishtha Chatterjee played the female lead in the film which also featured  Ashique Hussain, Badrul Islam, Angana Roy, Riju Bajaj, Jagannath Seth, Sruthy Jayan, Dilip Das, and Dattatreya in key roles.

Dahini is about the scourge of witch-hunting, and how it leads to gender-based violence has been depicted in a moving fashion by the film. Women become victims of witch-hunting in property disputes or in cases where they are hated for not conforming to societal gender norms.

The film was shot in the Mayurbhanj district (where witch-hunting is said to be rampant), Odisha, and is inspired by real-life incidents.
