A R Rahman asks wife not to talk in Hindi

Double Oscar winner A.R Rahman is known for his strong views and he airs them frankly. Rahman longtime back shared that few people in Bollywood are preventing him from giving good output. He said “I don’t say no to good movies, but I think there is a whole gang (in #Bollywood) working against me and spreading some false rumors (about me). People are expecting me to do stuff, but there is another gang of people preventing that from happening. It is fine because I believe in destiny. I believe that everything comes from God.”

This created a huge controversy with Kangana Ranaut jumping into it. Now a video of Rhaman asking his wife Saira Banu not to speak in Hindi. He won the award for his songs he composed for  song Marakuma Nenjam... from Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu and Best Music Composer Award 2022 for Cobra, Ponniyin Selvan and Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu at the Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards ceremony for 2020, 2021 & 2022 was held recently.

While dedicating the award to his wife Saira Babu, handing over the mic to his wife, Rahman teased her saying, “Please don’t speak in Hindi, speak in Tamil” leaving the audience in splits as his wife went, “Oh my god”. Saira Babu said , “Good evening everyone. Sorry, I can’t speak fluently in Tamil. So, please excuse me. I am super, super happy and excited because his voice is my favourite. I fell in love with his voice. That’s all I can say.”

But many in Bollywood have taken Rahman's words as Anti Hindi and started demanding Bollywood to ban him. It has to be seen how Rahman will react to it. Here are the reactions.

“Sari izzat, paisa hindi music banake kamai. And look at the disdain for the language..and its not the first time he has done that. Ungrateful”.

“Shame on disrespecting Hindi. Don't test the patience of Hindi speaking people who made him real hero, while he acts like a villain for Indians who respect Hindi. Shame on Rehman.”

“Shame on @arRahman .. He won the Oscar for the Hindi Song "Jai Ho" and in an event he asked his wife NOT to speak in Hindi. Later his wife spoke in English... What a hypocrisy”.
