It is very rare we call actors as a Star Comedian especially those who only do comic roles. There were many pre-2000's in this new millennium, Sunil rose to that stardom among comedians. But eventually he turned into a Hero leaving comedian in him. But, that's another story. Sunil who entered the film industry with small roles has attracted the audience even with small roles with a couple of lines in his earlier films. Trivikram and Sunil comes from same town Bhimavaram and they are close friends from their hometown days. So, Trivikram right from his first film as a writer penned even a small role for his friend in every film. And Sunil made it work to the fullest, be it a one-line role or a full-length one.
Sunil's major breakthrough came from Nuvvu Nenu directed by Teja. Then followed by Nuvvu Naaku Nachav, Manasatha Nuvve and Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu. He earned stardom as a comedian with these films and no one forgets his roles in those movies whenever these films were recalled. He did more than 100 films in his five year career period. That's an average of 20 films per year. You can imagine his craze at that time by these stars. After 100 films as a comedian, he became. Already actor with Andala Ramudu which became a superhit at the boxoffice.
But, Sunil was back to being a Star Comedian even after the success as a lead actor. He did another 60 plus films in comic roles for the next five years. Then comes an offer he can't miss, a film with SS Rajamouli as a hero titled Maryada Ramanna. Sunil jumped the wagon and gave his all. It is already known that Sunil is a good dancer besides his unmatchable comedy timing. Utilising all these Rajamouli has presented a different Sunil with Maryada Ramanna and delivered a blockbuster. From this film Sunil has became a full-fledged hero and did a dozen films as a hero but only a couple of films became boxoffice hits.
Then after retrospection Sunil is back to his zone, comedy. He made his re-entry as a comedian with his friend Trivikram's Directorial Aravinda Sametha starring NTR. He has been doing comic roles ever since in almost all big films. He did as a villain in Colour Photo which earned him accolade. But, Pushpa revived his career once again. He was seen completely different with a terrific makeover in a menacing villain role. It gained him wide recognition. He is now playing as antagonist in big Tamil films which includes Rajinikanth's Jailer, Karthi's Japan and Siva Karthikeyan's Maaveeran.
CineJosh wishing the star comedian, versatile actor Sunil a very happy birthday and wish him a great success in his new roles too.
