Brahmanandam - the name needs no introduction to Telugu people. His screen presence itself brings smiles to the audience irrespective of age. He has ruled as the king of comedy for three decades. He earned his place among legendary comedy actors in Indian cinema. He is celebrating his 67th birthday today. Kanneganti Brahmanandam was born in 1st February, 1956. He used to perform stage plays during his schooling. He didn't lost his passion towards acting even after he became a lecturer. He made his acting debut with Thathavatharam but his first release was Aha Naa Pellanta in 1987. In Aragundu role, Brahmanandam left an indelible mark with his debut itself.
Later Legendary comedy film Director Jandhyala who directed Aha Naa Pellanta has made Brahmanandam a part of his team. Then followed by SV Krishna Reddy, EVV Satyanaraya, VV Vinayak and Srinu Vaitla who has written numerous roles for only Brahmanandam and he aced them all.
Many films became successful solely due to the comedy of Brahmanandam. He acted in more than 1200 films and earned place in Guinness Book Of Records.
He has been conferred with numerous award. He won Nandi Award for his first film itself. He is awarded with Doctorate by Nagarjuna University and prestigious Padma Shri award is bestowed on him in 2009 by the government of India. Currently Brahmanandam has reduced doing films. He is doing a key role in Krishna Vamsy's Rangamarthanda and Tharun Bhascker's Keeda Cola.
