Samantha Shakuntalam backs off

All eyes were on Shakuntalam when the makers finalized the film's release on November 4. Everyone got excited as the makers finally announced the film's release date thus ending all the rumors surrounding it over the film's output etc. But even before movie lovers can discuss about Samantha-Gunasekhar's Shakuntalam, the makers shocked everyone by announcing the film's postponement indefinitely.

Much to the disappointment of Samantha's fans, the makers revealed  ‘We aim to give a bigger experience with ‘Shaakuntalam’ and immerse you in the ‘World of Shaakuntalam’. for which we as a team felt 3D would be a brilliant way. To facilitate this, we would be taking some time to put forth and so, will be unable to meet the earlier announced date of release. We thank the support and love showered upon us, from around the world, hoping for your support in this too! We will be announcing the new release date soon. ‘

The film directed by Gunasekhar stars Dev Mohan, and Mohan Babu in key roles while Allu Arjun's daughter Allu Arha is making her debut on screen playing the role of Prince Bharata.
