Andhra Pradesh government headed by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy sounded a deathknell to Tollywood by enacting the Andhra Pradesh Cinemas (Regulation) (Amendment) Bill 2021banning extra shows, benefit shows, putting a cap of Rs 80 per ticket and introducing state controlled online ticketing portal.
Following this , entire Tollywood went into a silent mode. Till now no one reacted to AP government's move. According to the latest, mega Star reacted and shared his views on social media platform.
Chiranjeevi shared his views saying , “While the move of online ticketing to bring transparency is highly appreciated, pricing of tickets should be allowed to change in accordance with how it is being implemented in all other states if the welfare of Telugu Film Industry is concerned. When governments are collecting the same GST across the nation, the pricing of tickets should be flexible like it is everywhere in the country. Please re-think your decision and only with that encouragement, TFI would survive”.
