Story Review

Giridhar (Giridhar) is an honest cab driver and one day he finds a packet in his cab's backseat. Giridhar finds out that it contains drugs and though he is honest, he feels that he can make huge bucks and so decides to steal it.

But this decision of Giri brings many drastic changes in his life thanks to Shalini (Divi Vadhtya) who gets into his cab after the person who boarded his car loses the packet from his bag. The twists and turns unfolding in Giri's life and how Shalini is related forms crucial elements in Cab Stories.

Artists, Technicians Review

Director KVN.Rajesh selected a routine story but narrated it in a thrilling manner in his own style. He increased craze on his project though it is his debut one by roping in actors known to everyone and also casting Big Boss fame Divi Vadyat. He showed the happenings in society regarding drugs and how guys think about girls. He believed only in the content and to some extent, it worked out. He tried to attract people with his twists.

Sai Kartheek 's music for the title song is peppy but failed to elevate the scenes with his background music which plays a key role in the thrillers. Sujatha Siddharth's cinematography for shooting the scenes in the cab is good but one gets a feeling that they lacked the intensity. Seems Sai Karthik and Sujatha are lethargic in their efforts. Tammiraju with his editing cut the film in a crispy manner. The production values of Image Spark Entertainment are good.

Divi Vaidhtya who appeared in one scene in Mahesh Babu's Maharshi played a full-length role in the film. She performed in the role which turned the entire story. She effortlessly slipped into the role of a middle-class girl named Shalini. However, her character is not penned in a proper manner. Director turned her character in a silly and shoddy manner. She did not get a good chance to show her acting talent and was made to indulge in skin show in an illogical opening song.

Giridhar who played the cab driver, Sirhan Shri who played the role of Divi's boyfriend and Nandini performed in a decent manner. Siri Hanumanth who is a YouTube star got a small role to delight his fans. Dhanraj and Praveen failed to attract viewers with their comedy. Since the director ended the film naming it the first volume, one can expect many more parts, and let's hope they introspect their shortcomings and come with better stuff.

Rating Analysis

Director KVN.Rajesh who is also the writer and other writer S.Krishna failed to live up to the expectations in Cab Stories volume 1. They came with many routine, redundant scenes like Shalini and her boyfriend's love track, slow motion walks on the technical side, artificiality involving Shalini and Giridhar to outwit a cop, drug mafia acting like dumbos unlike Praveen, the HR manager who shows off his sexual desires. All these instead of increasing the interest of the viewers tested their patience. Considering all these aspects, CJ goes with a 2 rating for Cab Stories.

Punchline: Cab Stories turns out to be Careless Stories.
