Wamiqa Gabbi Turns Sivagami!

SS Rajamouli scripted history with his franchise Baahubali series that put the Indian cinema on global map. With the unfathomable success the two installments has generated, OTT giant platform Netflix came up with 9 episodes web series version of Bahubali: Before The Beginning, which will chronicle the journey of rise of Sivagami.

As we reported earlier Mrunal Thakur was chosen to play the younger version of Sivagami. While the team shot 70%, Netflix was unhappy with the outcome thus it scrapped the entire product putting Rs 100 crores in waste. The OTT giant then decided to come up with a new version for which Rs 200 crores has been allocated.

In the new version, Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi is playing the role of Sivagami. The entire new episodes will be shot with new team and cast and the details of which will be announced soon. Speaking about the replacement, a source says, “Mrunal doesn't have any more dates to shoot the whole thing again. So the team have now got Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi”.

Wamiqa has done fe Hindi films like Jab We Met, Mausam and Love Aaj Kal. She has also done handful of films in South especially in Malayalam.
