At a time when most film industries are doing away with songs and lip sync-numbers in particular, Telugu cinema is one rare place where songs continue to thrive and be a crucial factor in deciding the fate of the movie. Rang De, composer Devi Sri Prasad’s follow-up film after Uppena, promises to be a good musical ride. The melodious song from the film Rangule, whose video version released today, has all the makings of a chartbuster.
The 90-second long glimpse of Rangule tells us why the film’s cinematographer P C Sreeram is a class apart. Besides Shweta Mohan’s lilting vocals, the song is shot amid exotic locales that are eye-pleasing. A wide variety of flowers in vibrant colours, the surreal beaches, greenery and of course, Keerthy Suresh’s exquisite fashion sense enhance the beauty of the number.
It’s not the first time that Nithiin has worked on a project with PC Sreeram as a cinematographer – the memories of his hit, Ishq, are still vivid in the minds of the viewers which also had great music and equally lovely picturisation by the ace cameraman. Rang De, a rom-com, is also set in a similar space and one can’t wait to see what the film offers to the audiences.
