Production houses and studios in the film industry survive only when they adapt to changing times and trends. Since, 1947, Avm Productions has enjoyed a long-lasting legacy in producing films across multiple Indian languages featuring the biggest stars of the nation. The legendary banner is now embarking on a new chapter, by producing a web show for an OTT platform.
Aruna Guhan, Partner and Creative Director for the banner now, confirmed the same today. “Continuing our over 75 year-long legacy in churning out riveting stories for the Tamil audience, Avm Productions announces our next offering - an intriguing crime thriller, ‘Tamil Stalkers’. We join hands with SonyLIV and director Arivazhagan for a series that is inspired by a real-life film piracy group and dwells on the stark realities of content piracy in the Tamil film industry. The series marks AVM’s foray into OTT and will go live on SonyLIV later this year,” she said.
Throwing light on the relevance of the web show’s theme, Aruna added, “Illegal and unauthorised duplication of content is one of the gravest concerns plaguing content creators world over. In India, the Tamil film industry has been fighting a never-ending battle with this issue owing to various online piracy websites. This show deep dives into the dark side of this piracy world and unravels the industry’s constant battle against identifying the group that is involved in releasing pirated content.”
The show will be available for the audience in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
