Prashanth Neel starrer KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) released in 2018 made a staggering noise with its content which was an out-an-out pan-Indian blockbuster. Starring Yash and bankrolled by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner Hombale films, the film Hindi rights were bought by Excel Entertainment for a meager amount.
Much to the delight of Excel Entertainment owners the film minted moolah to their surprise. Now, Excel Entertainment has again bought the Hindi rights of KGF 2 releasing this year. However, this time they had to shell out a whopping amount to seal the deal.
A source revealed, “When KGF was made we were not even thinking of a Hindi version. It was done at the last minute and sold to Excel for peanuts. The investment for the sequel is at least 7 times more than the original. Of course, Excel has had to pay a lot more this time to acquire the rights.”
