‘Cheliyaa’ starring Karthi, Aditi Rao Hydari is one of the most awaited films of the season. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the intense love story is all set for a Telugu, Tamil release on April 7th across world.
What’s more exciting about the movie is, Karthi played a fighter pilot while Aditi is a Doctor working in army. Well, Karthi disagrees to address ‘Cheliyaa’ as war backdrop film because love story in Sri Nagar and central lead characterizations are the film’s major strength.
'I played a wide range of roles in my 10 years career span but taking up fighter pilot is entirely different. ‘Cheliyaa’ reminded me of actually my elder brother Suriya’s Military Officer characterization in ‘Surya Son Of Krishnan.’
I took lot of advices from my brother preparing for the role. In particular, fitness based physical workouts, weight loss program depending more on liquid diet are the inputs given by him. I also attended the pilot training course.
‘Cheliyaa’ is completely a relation based film between two characters, me and Aditi just like ‘Ok Bangaram’ but the difference is ‘Cheliyaa’ is an intense emotional love story while ‘Ok Bangaram’ is a light weight love story,’ Karthi said.
