The most awaited and highly talked about Indian magnum opus ‘Baahubali 2’ audio is released last night at the grandly held pre release event. As expectations are too high on this second part album, let’s see how far MM Keeravani and director SS Rajamouli lived up to their brand. ‘Baahubali 2’ audio CD consists of five varied songs and each of them is on situational demand.
Here we go:
1. Saahore Baahubali: Song stands out for thumping lyrics from veterans Shiva Shakti Dutta, Dr K Ramakrishna and the amazing rendition by Daler Mehendi. While Daler gave song a high takeoff, the emotional pitch in between mother-son sentimental lyrics is kept pure by Keeravani and Mounima. Drum stroke beats in sync with ‘Heysa Rudrassa… Heysarabhadra Samudrassa’ re-repeated many times manifested the celebrative atmosphere at Amarendera Baahubali Pattabhishekam taking a bow before Mother like figurine Shivagami.
Tune, instrumentization for the charanam part and Mounima’s voice resembled ‘Baahubali 1’ song Mamathala Thalli and Sathya Yamini with chorus. All in all, Saahore is an instant hit for sure.
2. Hamsa Naava: Begins with a mixed musical theme of ‘Manohari’ in ‘Baahubali 1’ and ‘Malli Malli Idi Raani Roju’ from ‘Rakshasudu,’ soon Chaitanya Prasad lyrics for this melodious romantic duet between Amarendra Baahubali and Deva Sena keep us hooked. Sony and Deepu gave a new flavor but overall this song can click only on repeated hearing.
Definitely not on par with ‘Dheevara’ or ‘Pachcha Bottesina.’ Hope, visuals will be the savior.
3. Dandalayya: Lyrics from Keeravani and rendition by his son Kala Bhairava are best parts in this song. The way Bhairava interprets ‘Dandaalayya Dandaayalla… Maathone Nuvvundaalayya’ is heart touching. This young singer matched his father’s depth, vocalizing the traumatic lyrics. In between ‘Mamathala Thalli’ music keeps us haunting. Most of the song is filled with chorus. Yet again, a sure shot situational song.
4. Oka Pranam: One of the best instrumentization from Keeravani in recent times. Powerful lyrics from Keeravani and Kaala Bhairava sung with force. Phrases like Ragilindaa Ranatantram, Hananamthone Modalayyinda Havanamlo Jwalanam… Sebhaasane Nabham is superbly written. Core plot of the film is narrated in one song and that’s Oka Pranam. Most likely the best song in album on quality front.
5. Kanna Nidurincharaa: Yet again MM Keeravani penned lyrics for this cradle song from Deva Sena to Lord Krishna. Singers Sree Nidhi and Sri Soumya’s sweet voices are so pleasant for ears. Song is too lengthy around 5 minutes and gives a drowsy feeling…. Kanna Nidurincharaa…
In totality, ‘Baahubali 2’ album has just five songs unlike eight in ‘Baahubali 1.’ My pick is for ‘Saahore, Dandalayya’ first followed by ‘Oka Pranam’ while the rest of two ‘Kanna Nidurincharaa’ and ‘Hamsa Naava’ aren’t really mesmerizing.
The album is dominated more by Keeravani family… Shiva Shakti Dutta lyrics, Kaala Bharaiva vocals, lastly Keeravani shined both as lyricist and singer.
