The Republican candidate Donald Trump is elected as 45th President of the US. In a close tied election match between Trump and Hillary Clinton, Trump got 276 votes against Clinton at 218 with 270 being the magic figure.
Trump picked up crucial battleground states earlier including Florida, North Carolina and Ohio. Scores went so close because both the candidates scored victories in states they were expected to win. Finally, Donald Trump claimed victory cheering the supporters at his New York headquarters. On overall score, Trump got a mere 0.85 per cent votes higher than Hillary. In detail, Trump scored 57,040,030 (48.05%) while Hillary got 56,060,334 (47.2%) votes.
Before congratulating Hillary Clinton on a hard fought battle, Trump called on Americans to come together as one united people. As it is already midnight now, Trump is expected to deliver his speech tomorrow for the Nation.
