Senior artist and a versatile veteran cinema personality Ranganath is no more. Aged 66 years, he is reported dead few minutes ago. While exact reasons behind his death are still unknown but reports say, he committed suicide hanging at home in Kavadiguda near Gandhi Nagar in Hyderabad. He is also said to be wearing Ayyappa Mala.

Ranganath has two daughters and a son. Acted in more than 300 films, Ranganath worked as a villain, character artist, hero and also a director. He even forayed into small screen circuit. After entering into films in 1969 with 'Buddhimanthudu,' he evolved as a hero in 1974 with the film named ‘Chandana.’ He directed a Telugu film ‘Moguds Pellams’ starring Sivaji Raja as hero. As of now, Gandhinagar Police are probing the reasons behind this suspicious suicide. Apparently, financial reasons are said be one of the reasons by few media sources. Yet one more irrecoverable loss for Telugu cinema.
