Apex court rejected Yakub Memon’s last plea stating that it would be a travesty of justice to stay the death warrant.
With neither the President of India Pranab Mukherjee nor Maharashtra Home Minister Vidyasagar Rao accepting the mercy petition filed by Memon’s brothers, finally the death has come as Jail authorities executed him exactly 7:00 AM and declared dead at 7:01 AM.
