Giri Babu gets Doctorate

Veteran artiste Giri Babu was conferred Honourary Doctorate by AIM Westbrook University, West Veriginia, USA for his contribution to cinema and social work. "I have been working for the development of my village in Prakasha district and also donated 1.25 acres of land for TTD Kalyana Mandapam and in 2008 I built a play ground. Many other development works are in progress at my village," Giribabu said.

Born in Ravinuthala village in Prakasham district, Giribabu started his film career in1973 and acted in about 550 films. He also produced films under Jayabheri Art Pictures banner. His son Raghu Babu is now leading character artiste cum comedian in Telugu films.
