Akkineni Annapurna passes away

Akkineni Annapurna, wife of ANR, died here on Wednesday. She was 79.

The Akkineni couple has two sons and three daughters. Younger son Nagarjuna and his son Naga Chaitanya are in the film line along with Suman and Sushant who the sons of their daughter Susheela.

Being the lucky mascot of his life, ANR named all his ventures after his wife Annapurna. That is how Annapurna Pictures, Annapurna flour mills and Annapuran studios came into existence.

Nagaruna and his son Naga Chaitanya were in Bangalore when Annapurna breathed her last. They are rushing back to city.

On hearing the news, actors, producers, technicians and politicians arrived to the Akkineni house to condole the death of Annapurna.
