What is Andhra Pradesh Government doing to restore the historical monuments of Hyderabad? This is the first question many were targeting on Government with the incident that happened few hours ago.
As Monsoon and Cyclones are set active on Telangana, heavy rains are slashing Hyderabad. Nothing to mention about traffic in the city and hours of waiting even with a small shower, here is a fresh scene and that too with a moderate downpour in old city and huge chunk of concrete from one of the four minars started to fall down on the pedestrians making them to run away from the monument.
None knows what is that exactly happened on Charminar but a car parked besides was totally damaged. Archaeological Survey of India who looks after the repairs and restoration of Charminar were earlier informed that huge air cracks were appeared on the outer surface along with moss and lichen grown on the walls facing the mosque, but nothing solid steps were taken to preserve it and now the damage seems to be happening.
Let us hope for some quick restoration works before Charminar gets into the real damage.
